Model of the frog:

I really tried I know it doesn’t exactly look like the video, I wasn’t able to figure out how to extend the curve on mac for the backdrop so it is just 2 planes and also the coloring on the center no matter how any times I go over it it would still be empty. Also the lighting is kind of bad as well. I am happy with the cheeks though they look very cute. I did struggle a lot in terms of making the vertices even and clicking on the right one. I actually applied subdivision way too early and I ended up having this shape with soooo many vertices that I wasn’t able to mark the right seams.
Model of my character:

Overall, doing my character was a lot more successful because of my experience of the frog. I know the arms still look flat but that’s because I drew it, I thought it would look weird if I made it poke out on the side because my character always had its arms on the body. The legs are 3D but I drew a black line around it so that it looked cohesive with the face and arms. Previously I wasn’t able to figure out how to extend the edge and I searched up what would replace the missing settings due to the difference in the Blender version. Lighting could still be better but it is at least easier to look at compared to the frog one. The coloring actually looks smooth and the shape of my character is more even. After doing it for the second time I actually realized I made some mistakes with the frog that I didn’t even notice. I’m happy that it turned out so much better than the frog. Even though I am still a beginner I think this was definitely a great learning experience. I made Rosie so much quicker and the whole process was a lot smoother.
Previously I had used Fusion 360 and Rhino for 3D modeling. In high school I remember I used Tinkercad and that’s how I knew 3D modeling existed. For this assignment I had a very very difficult time with blender because it was my first time ever trying it. When following the tutorial (especially when I was like 10 minutes into it) 1 minute of the video took me like 1 hour because I just couldn’t grab/organize the vertices as pretty and neat as the video and I would have to repeat the steps multiple times. But that did make me practice the shortcuts and then I could just do it without watching the video. I also really like to make things perfect so when I wasn’t able to I was just so frustrated. Overall I learned a lot and compared to other 3D modeling applications, this one gives me more freedom to shape it in any way that I like.
