Include sketches of the patterns and a sketch of how you envisioned this shape to look.
Finally describe in one paragraph the challenges you faced and how you solved them or could solve them.

Sketch of the carrot that I wanted to make

Here is the pattern that I ended up using

My first attempt was so crooked and I wasn’t even able to flip it inside out. The one on the right was after practicing and I was able to get it decent looking.

The one on the top is clearly not aligned properly because I didn’t pin it. The bottom three were sewed evenly

Prototype of what I wanted to make and I was using it to figure out how to sew the leaves

My final results!!
I faced a lot of challenges in terms of using the sewing machine (I know how to use it but was unfamiliar with controlling the direction and for how long/when I should turn) and making sure that I was able to add the leaves of the carrot. Practice makes it so much easier and comparing the before and after of trying to sew using the machine, each part of the carrot significantly looked better. If I were to redo my carrot I would not make the pattern a heart shape because it just looks weird. I would make it flatter on the top. For the body I also didn’t use pins for every part so at the end I had some extra fabric and when I was doing the invisible stitch I had to bunch it up and it is slightly curved. I would also make sure to sew the green leaves a little deeper because some of the stuffing is coming out from the corner that I didn’t sew. Overall I am happy because it is my first time making a stuff toy and it was still successful, I want to make so many more now because I love hands on.
